Tetsuya 8

We had this done and ready 4 days ago... sorry for serving it cold! I don't check my email enough it seems.

Tetsuya and Boushu have their infamous challenge at the shrine. Classic moment, at least for me. It's so simple and yet it embodies Boushu's winning philosophy so well. The anime did it justice, for sure.

  1. so after reading this chapter, and seeing the announce, i wonder do you guys train Cleaners/Typesetters, because i may be interested, but i warn you before hand this is my first time doing this and i have no idea whatsoever of what i may have to do.

  2. Interesting... I don't think we've ever trained cleaners and typesetters, but we may be up to the challenge. You definitely need Photoshop and a variety of fonts. Cleaners need some amount of art skills for redraws, or just a solid grasp of the tools. And a good eye, of course. Typesetters need a lot of fonts and basically need to have a general idea of when to use fancy ones and when not to. I feel like a common mistake is using too many different fonts.
I will warn you though, cleaning and typesetting, at least for me, are very time consuming and often redundant. It's not for everyone. I certainly don't enjoy it, but there are a lot of people that do and find it rewarding, or they just have great work ethic. I'd say play with some manga raws in photoshop and see if editing seems appealing to you. If so, you could probably pick it up pretty fast.

  3. i see, ok then im gonna try whit some raws, i have photoshop cs4 installed but i haven't used it too much, as for art skill i'm taking some oil painting classes, but since this is digital editing and i will be working whit mouse i guess this gets reduced to motivation... as for the fonts, could you tell me a good place to get them, im one hell of a virgin at this...

Here's some comic fonts. A lot of them, actually. Anime Ace is one of the more common manga fonts. I would also recommend Wild Words, and you can pick that up on google easily enough.

  5. woa thanks man i have found some fonts, but i didn't know which ones to pick, those reference will come handy, and now im gonna mess whit the raws of Doubutsu no Kuni 2, i would like to do the chapters after the 7 one but i cant find those, the second one is already done by other guy but this is practice after all.

talking about that where can i send you this once i finish, after all i think im doing this to apply to the group, even if working on Doubutsu no Kuni seems quite appealing...
