Naki no Ryuu Chapter 2

Another chapter of Ryuu is here. This chapter is where things start to pick up, and is not so coincidentally the starting point of the OVA series. The awkward sex scenes also go away after this chapter, so don't drop it just yet!

Thanks to Penchan for cleaning, typesetting, and putting up with my constant late changes.

The Vermilion Bird represents the cardinal direction south and the season of summer. You may also know it by the names "Suzaku" and "Zhu Que."

Now onto a random bit of mahjong terminology that I felt like explaining. On page 44, Ryuu wins with a hatsu-only hand. However, he refers to it as "oute bisha" (王手飛車)

Oute bisha comes from a shogi term meaning "forking the rook while checking the king." However, in mahjong it means a hand whose yaku change depending on which tile it wins with. This is important due to a play set called "sakizuke" (先付け). Literally "to set first," in sakizuke you must establish a yaku in your hand before you can win, as opposed to atozuke (後付け, "to set after"), where you can basically do whatever you want as long as you eventually have a yaku. Depending on the strictness of the house rules, an oute bisha hand can be either legal or illegal.

Just one more little tidbit before I'm done, I swear!

I noticed a panel that's reused in both chapters. I wouldn't be surprised if there were more reused panels in between the two chapters, and in future chapters as well.

DROPPED, shit manga, unrealistic(ryuu too beatuful and perfect), 0/10

Also there's as many reused panels as there's badly drawn old man faces, just try to not think about it too much bongi
