Mukoubuchi Chapter 11

Mukoubuchi 11 is now up! In this chapter, we discover that parlors are being raided one after another after banning two men with Ibaraki dialects... and those two men show up in Tajima's parlor! He wants to drive them out because they're clearly cheating, but he can't or else they'll rat him out to the police!! Can he do anything to stop them before they drive all his customers away?!

Thanks to Tambur for the typesetting and to penchan for the cleans!

"I don't know how they're doing it... but these two are a team!!"

So this chapter was mostly just exposition, showing how Mito and Akatsuka are taking parlors for their money and how little they can really do to stop them. The only way to get them to leave is to make them want to leave, it seems... and the only way to do that is to beat them so bad they don't want to come back. But who would be capable of doing something like that? Perhaps the man known as Kai (傀)... a name with the characters for human (人) and demon (鬼).

Speaking of, Kai's name has always been this way, and Japanese speakers would have picked up on that right away. But because the manga didn't make reference to the characters in his name until now I had to wait. I was wondering if I should just make a note about it, but since they do explain it in this chapter I decided to hold off the explanation until here. It's also worth noting that Kai is probably not his real name; it's just what people call him.

Also, I've known I wanted to have Mito and Akatsuka speak with brooklyn accents since I first read this. I think it translates the tone of the accent better than having them speak with a southern drawl would. It might read a little strange but hopefully the points get across.
